I finally caved and bought a cupboard that I needed, but the one I didn't want. I caved because I just wanted to clear up the boxes in my studio and wasn't willing to wait for the right thing to come along.
So I settled and unpacked about 4 boxes in here!
Not only that, but I bought 2! Twice as many boxes unpacked. Old crafty treasures discovered.
Now I just need to clean up this....
And this...
So I can come back to these....
And make a whole bunch of these!
But first, I think I'll take a nap. I've been up since 4:45 and planning lessons, teaching and am fading fast. Just a little one is good right? The fire is so nice.
ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Oh, those bags and piles...my whole attic looks like that! I think we all dream of an organized creative space but suspect that most crafty people dig through bags and boxes for some remembered button or bit of ribbon. I know I do! Great to make a bit of progress, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI think Pinterest can make you crazy with all those organized people. I did throw out a bag of stuff that I just couldn't deal with when we packed up. So I paid .40/lb for it. All a state to mind I guess. Taking the rest a bit at a time as now the room is exposed! No nooks to cram things in. I think i need another cupboard!
DeleteSo great when progress is made, and even if it not exactly the cupboard you wanted, there is always paint! :) The bags and piles look like our entire garage right now as I continue to procrastinate on the packing. With moving quote in hand I hope it motivates me to just get rid of a bunch of the stuff!

ReplyDeleteSo great when things come together and you get organized, and even if it is not the right cupboard, sometimes done is better than perfect, and there is always paint, no? :) Your piles look like our entire garage as I continue to procrastinate about packing. Now that I have seen the moving quote I need to purge a mountain of stuff!
ReplyDeleteI have one piece of advice, do one thing a day until you HAVE to do it everyday. It was truly overwhelming. Even when we purged, stored and packed for the staging and selling of our home, there was still so much stuff to pack for the actual move. EVERY SINGLE HOUR of EVERY SINGLE DAY! So.. start now. even if you don't want to!
ReplyDeleteYes, it does feel kinda good to get the cardboard out.
cheers
Looking good, Amanda. Until the perfect cupboard you're yearning for comes along, your fabrics and supplies are getting organized for more productivity, in the ones you've bought. My sewing room definitely needs a redo. You have a lovely big studio.
ReplyDeleteYes Bonnie, my studio is a nice size. Only problem is it's the main entrance. I try to keep it contained, but when I'm working on an upcoming craft show, a bomb explodes. Especially with all those sweater bits. I'm glad sweater season is almost over. Although, I keep getting requests for hand puppets....
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny that you recognized Greenwood Park!
ReplyDeleteAmanda, I have added your blog to my reader, I love discovering Canadian sewing blogs to explore!
oh yes, I used to live across from it on Athletic (the guilt trip street) and then moved up to highfield and walpole. So I know that neighbourhood well!
ReplyDeleteUgh, feeling a little nauseous at the sight of all those bags of...stuff. The German word for fabric is "Stoff", which sounds like stuff, and that's probably where our word for "items that will eventually have some use" came from. German housewives who had too much fabric!! :-) Miss you over here in GreenwoodParkLand.
ReplyDeletehey You CHick! All those bags were hidden in the nooks and crannies. What's the word for that in German? Stuffing.
ReplyDeleteMiss you too babe! Thought of you today as I unearthed something!
