Ninja Peggie

In this pouch is a bit of cuteness.
Of the Ninja variety.

I first saw this idea on The Knitty Gritty Homestead.
I was smitten. And I just needed a pouch for it. Enter the canvas pouch.
 Look out... they are stealthy!
Ear worm! GO. Check it out. (inner ninja)

here and deer

2 more market bags. I'm still not tired of making these.
Good thing... I still have a few pieces of great fabric in my stash!
These two lovelies are available for sale at the Whirligig Book shop!
The weather finally warmed up and it's been so glorious around here!
I've been enjoying these daffodils from my kitchen window, but noticed them from this angle on a walk. Notice the trees at the back from the other side of the house.
The deer have returned. They must be quite new as there were only three a few days ago.
The mother had twins last year.
Looks like she had twins again this year. There are 5 deer here. 2 new babies, 2 one year olds and the mama. Poor mama!
Did you spot Number 5? Tricky!!!!
The babies don't have the stripe down the back or the spots. Should look up why. Do they get them later? When we arrived last July, they had spots and stripes.
This coming Saturday, May 4, I'll be at the Mother's Day shopping spree at the Fire hall. 1-4
They are fund raising for an AED for Lockeport High School.
Come support this great cause and buy something local! There will be over 30 vendors there!

change of plans

For a some time now, I've been collecting bottle caps.
The kind from milk jugs and juice cartons.
And looking for rubber boots for the kids.
Finally, the weather warmed up, supper was early and we set about to make these boats to float on the little stream in our yard.
And then this started. Pouring rain.
You can't tell from the pictures, but it is teeming.
And warm. It's been awhile since it's been warm enough to play outside after supper without getting a chill.
And after a few rounds of "bounce the ball on the trampoline" this is what you look like.
Stay tuned for the great down stream bottle cap boat race!
Man, we need to get outside! Bring on the sunshine.

WIP and studio peek

On the work table today...
Pink and Blue Monsteys!
 Bear hand Puppets
Piggy hand puppets. I have a blue one in the line up too.
 Tooth Fairy Bags
And here is a peek at my almost finished studio
Look at all that floor space! You can bounce a ball in there!
 Still working on this nook.
And a view from the office.
A few corners left. YES! Although, the pile under the blue blanket in the right is sweater scraps for puppets. I don't have space to poke that, so it will have to continue to be a mound.
Now maybe I can hold some classes in here! Whadda think local ladies?

rainy day play

Somedays,
all you need to brighten up the day is a cuppa tea, dollar store clay
And a bit of a theme and dream of days to come.

for the birdies...II

This evening we took some scraps of wool roving and threads from my off cuts,
Mixed them together to get the roving nice and fluffy,

Then put them in the suet feeder as a gift to the birds to make their nests.
The suet feeder that hasn't had suet in it for some time because of a nasty racoon.
And I only put a little bit of seed in the feeder so it will be all gone in the evening. Mr. Racoon will have to find food somewhere else.
I hope the birds find their gift.
I saw this in passing on some one else's blog. If you know where... please, do tell.
In previous years, we have done this.

Happy Earth Day!

Happy Mail!

I did a peggie swap in March and my other swap partner was Jen from Sewn Natural.
She sent these matryoshka peggies!
 How cute are they!
Oh and the biggest felted acorn I've ever seen!
Thanks Jen. So glad to add these to my collection and for the happy mail on this drizzly day!

I've bought a third cupboard and will have all of those left over bits in their new home this weekend! yeah, a clean studio helps unclutter the mind.

Have a good one!

reorganizing

I finally caved and bought a cupboard that I needed, but the one I didn't want. I caved because I just wanted to clear up the boxes in my studio and wasn't willing to wait for the right thing to come along.
So I settled and unpacked about 4 boxes in here!
Not only that, but I bought 2! Twice as many boxes unpacked. Old crafty treasures discovered.
Now I just need to clean up this....
And this...
So I can come back to these....
And make a whole bunch of these!
But first, I think I'll take a nap. I've been up since 4:45 and planning lessons, teaching and am fading fast. Just a little one is good right? The fire is so nice.

BLAH

Oh. My. I am SO. BLAH. TODAY!
It's so cold, we need one of these today. Like, really need it.
(some felted soap drying out last week)
And I put a little basket of happy together to try to boost the mood.
Oh, the tea is Rhubarb vanilla from Ikea! DH was in Ottawa last week and I requested some things from there.
k, enough of a break. Let's see if I can put some life into these wild animals.
At least we don't have Snow. shhhh

More market bags and around the grounds.

Some colourful friends,

And the Market Bags.
 Oh, looky here....
More market bags! From my stash of fabric I bought in Portugal a few years ago.
Love this newsprint paired with the red denim. Yes, red denim! (Tammy, if you're reading here.. you going to the Fabric store on the Danforth soon? nudge, nudge, wink, wink.)
Inside the bag.  A pocket on both sides and a twill ribbon with a key ring attached.

The weather is starting to warm up. Sometimes. My neighbour is looking after my gardening wishes and brought me some wood to make raised vegetable beds. I think I shall plant potatoes in these.
He also came with his chain saw. Cut out 2 alder bushes to make room for a floating dock.
Cleared up the path on the back of the pond. Should I keep this tree? Or cut it now? I can just imagine it getting too big to pass in a decade.
I don't get to stop on this side of the pond much.
He cleared a bunch more stuff and I made him and his kids dinner. Fair trade to me!
Now, what to do with all those branches.
That will be another day.
For now, I'll go outside and enjoy the warmth and the sunshine.
(sorry friends in Ontario. I hear you're having a Spring storm!)
Ciao,
Amanda
