Cotton sewing

We are expecting a family from Syria today.
A little girl and a boy.
I thought it would be nice for them to receive a little toy of their own
to distract them on the last leg of their long journey.

And for the little girl, A Maisie Doll

Welcome to Canada and Shelburne, your new Home!
We hope you will like it here.

Christmas Craft Fair circuit

Whew!
With 3 out of 4 craft fairs done, I am ready to take a break today.
And of course, taking the time to say hello to you is on the top of my list!

This table set up was at the Ingomar sale.
Jam packed on a 5 foot table.
I can confidently say that most things on this table are gawn.

For some reason, I don't have a picture of my sale at the Fire Hall, so I move on to the sale at The Grand Hotel in Yarmouth.
Sorry for the fuzzy... I cleaned my lens after this.
I can confidently say, that most things on this table are available.
Weird show.. Widely advertised and attended, but not a lot of buying. hmm?

I needed a break from sweater sewing one day, so I played around with cashmere scarves.
Voila... hot water bottle covers. love em
These cashmere infant hats are soo soft and adorable.
Like my balloon display?

Basket of mittens from sales ago.
All gone, but I do have more. Of course.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this little kid section.
Those puppets please me.
And working with the felt in hair clips and tooth fairy bags. niiice

My first batch of stockings. gawn

My second batch. All available

And amongst the Christmas making, I got to make this little one for a new wee one in the world.

With a reversible dress.

One more craft sale on FRIDAY, at the Lockeport Pavillion 12-4
I will have a few more things added. Hopefully with a kid focus.

For a more up to date view of what I am doing,

ta ta for now....

a Perfect Stormy Sunday.

Blah weather.
Church was cancelled. Roads were too icy for the priest to come from a neighbouring town.
 Felt like a snow day.
THEE best snow day, as my husband was home.
He cooked.
Kids were occupied. Origami was the focus of the day.
I love when you set something out on the table and the kids go back to it during the day.
What else does this table show...
A little guitar playing, movie making and iPad playing.
Face timing with friends from Toronto.
 Ooooo, lookie here....
a little sewing. For . Me. First time in a long time.
The cushion on the left is the original cushion.
The one on the right is a cover.
The one below is what I made.
A little applique.
To go with the motif on the carpet and in the lamp shade.
The branch was stitched with the Stretch stitch on A setting. The thread was a silky one.
Right now, DH is working away in the kitchen on turkey dinner. We're having company.
So I must go set up the tables and appetizers.

Maybe later, if I'm lucky, I'll get to work on the heel for these new socks.
Now that.... THAT was a good Sunday.

Ciao,
Amanda

Hot Water Bottle Cozy

Oo, I've been having fun! And I still have more ideas in my head.
Moving right along in the "let's be really productive" area....
Peek a-boo

Pretty flower! (I got some new die cuts from Michael's thanks to a GC from my inlaws. THANKS!)

 Toadstool

This one is fleece. I couldn't pass up the fun print.

And to fulfill my argyle obsession. I LOVE the pocket!

The sweater already had the stringy design. It and the flower are a lovely muted lilac.

And my squealy bear. I have a few more animal ideas for these. AND I found a smaller hot water bottle for the next ones. Adorable.

I think all of these will be going to Dots and Loops

Cheers,
Amanda

there's more!

These are so addictive! Another teapot cozy.
It is a good stash buster for all those sweaters deemed too itchy, too thin, too scratchy, too, too
Same goes for the hot water bottle covers. The red one is cotton with angora. Not so good for mittens, but perfect for a hot water bottle. I need to get me more sweaters!
The end of a wet, rainy day brought a rainbow.
 A double arc!
Have a good one!
